The new branch in the short road behind the old Ezic chicken restaurant is hardly used... it's easier to park and there are no queues... why not do your business at this branch instead of the busier less car-friendly version on the one-way system in town.

The staff are only too willing to sort out your banking needs.

Ayse speaks perfect English so no problems there...

It's been open for some time now, at least 4/5 months.

Watch out for this bank, although Ayse Aktig very helpful, they have a very odd policy when extracting monies on a monthly account. Should, in an emergency, monies need to be drawn before the maturity date, not only interest is lost on the taken amount (fair enough) but on the the whole lot for that monthly period!

Banks, don't you just love them!

All banks here used that policy, not just Iktisatbank (unless anyone knows differently )

Banks here do not have the facilities to work out interest on daily basis as in the UK, so your interest accrues on the date you put it in ie. 4th of next month , unless it falls on a weekend and will be available on the next working day.

You can have your interest paid into a current account, then you can access the interest on any day you choose.

You can also have as many deposit accounts as you like ( unlike the UK) and split your loot up so that you can access account one without touching the others. Each account is guaranteed up to the equivalent of 16000 euros.

I am an Iktisatbank customer, I did try a couple of others but went back to Iktisatbank as they are very helpful and courteous, and sending money from Uk only took 3 days to arrive.

Rates are now 8 - 9% depending on amount deposited, not sure of other banks rates this month ?

Credit West to not have this policy, only loose money on the amount taken out.
