hide my IP address, now or later

Maybe a stupid thing to ask, but should I wait until I come out to Cyprus and sign up with new internet provider to then hide my ip address so I can access BBC iplayer, etc? or can I do it now on my talktalk account?

How are you hiding or masking the Ip address ?

Interested in doing the same myself



I would think it would be better to test it in the UK to see if it works first IMHO but I might be a bit niave

Wanderer, I reckon it would be difficult to know if your IP address has been masked to access the BBC iplayer if you are in the UK. To get a proxy IP address you need to subscribe to an organisation like this: https://vpnuk.info/

I pay for a private network here at the cost of £5 per month and then I beam it from my laptop to my plasma with a wireless connection so then anything on BBC iplayer is now on my t.v.

do you have a dongle? (oh god, I'm sorry that sounds so rude!!)or do you subscribe to a fixed internet provider? I am thinking to use telsim for my internet but if I downlaod iplayer will it use all of my allowance up?

I use Nethouse as my internet provider, and I have wireless with them it cost me 95TL per month for 1024 kbps but you get more than that it just depends on how busy it is.



If you need to know more about the internet go to H & N computers they will advise and are very good,they are near Erdener,or you can contact them on here.



I don't think it would be very good using a dongle like you say your allowance will go very quickly.

Thanks very much for the links you posted, I have yesterday purchased a wireless media streamer, and tested it out, it is great, and am going to sign up for hiding ip address as soon as I get out next week.
