can anyone explain why advocados and limes - especially limes are no where to be found in TRNC?

we hired a villa a couple of months ago, and hubby and I love mexican food. I tried everywher for an advocodo and limes to cook a recipe at the villa - ut could find nothing. I was told to go to the South, but only had a hire car so could not make the journey. Any advice anyone?

well there are avocados galore in the supermarkets I frequent - and am sure they have been in the shops for the last few months. Lemars, Supreme, Tempo, Fatisa all have them.

Limes you can get but generally lemons are more available.

Thank HH, I must have gone round the Supermarkets with my head somewhere else. We are visiting the Island again in Sept so I will check out the Supermarkets ...

Cheers ...

I don't think Lime is an indigenous species to Cyprus but you can buy them sometimes. Our local garden centre, Tolga's in Karsiyaka, was selling them earlier this year. I think he imported them from Turkey.

Sorry, when I said you can buy them I meant the trees not the fruit.
