A security guard at Turtle bay holiday village has claimed that he feigned death to escape a beating by three armed raiders who stole 3470tl from him, the former police officer who has been working at the complex for the past 3 years said three men drove up in a car and asked for someone he didn't know, he said they pounced when he left his security kiosk to smoke a cigarette, one grabbed him by the throat while the other two beat him with plastic pipes

What was he doing with 3470TL on him in the first place?

Someone knew he had the money. Assuming that this is 100% accurate then we must discount the fact that it may not have happened and he just wanted to see his name in the newspapers.

Why did I say it.....because my cousins did the same thing!

He went to the Police with a story that he had been attacked and mugged and was left with a bruise on his arm, a cut lip and a black eye. The injuries were real, but he had sustained them in a fight with his older brother. He didn't want the truth known and to appear weak and fable.

It was when the local paper contacted him that the story started to get out of hand. Before he knew what was happening the lies were getting more elaborate.

The finale to this story is that cash and cheques from the public arrived and the criminal injuries compenstaion board paid out too.

Now tell me there may not be a grain of truth in what I said!

Being an owner at Turtle Bay, I find this story puzzling. For some time now we have not had any

security at the gate and the "kiosk" has been unoccupied for a long time. I was there 2 weeks ago and

things were still the same. Will check this story out with friends out there.

Just buy the Cyprus today issue 990 april 10th it's on the top right of the third page its also reported in the turkish speaking papers

i also have seen a man in the kiosk often in the evenings recently - puzzling !!
