Look at hard drive capacity (original drive size) and how much space you have left - ideal is to always have 20% of drive capacity empty!

Left Click - Start - My Computer

Right Click - Hard Drive Icon

Left Click - Properties

This will show you hard drive original size and current available space.

Other thing can be - temp files most probably full of rubbish and is taking up lots of space.

you will probably need to do a clean install of your operating system at the very least. Or you could have some faulty hardware, in which case you will need to do some detective work & find by a proccess of elimination what part it is that is at fault!

Although you should get someone to look at it tbh, if you are not sure what your doing.

for a start.

XP:

No1. go to start - programs - accessories - system tools - disc cleanup

No2. into your internet browser ie. go onto internet. Then on top tool bar - Tools - Internet Options - Delete button. On new panel make sure there is a tick in all the boxes EXCEPT the top one for 'prefer favourites' - these hold cookies that slow your pc down. ( don't worry it won't delete anything important) Then delete.

No3. Make sure your anti virus and anti spyware are up to date and do scans

A good anti spyware is Spybot
