Went there last night and had a very good experience. They only do a full meze but far too much to eat. The cost is only 15tl.

A bottle of red was only 20tl

The owner is a really nice guy trying to make things work and they also have a sports bar on the top floor with pool and darts.

Well worth a try

They had 60 people in lunchtime yesterday, the evening was very quiet.

Becoming more popular because of the 15tl menu and a bottle of red for 20tl even better

Market forces in action. It's well overdue.

Good luck to them.

If its quality food and drink at sensible prices then people will come - easy, just want more of it, perhaps the Harbour should take note!

you drive down the road from the Hideaway and turn right towards Girne. The restaurant is 500 yards on the right, there is a large car park by the side

Just out of common courtesy groups of six or more should always book. This helps the serving staff and the kitchen.

Never mind from the Hideaway, where is it in relation to the main road.

Definately sounds worth a go when I am over next month, just love a meze.

It is right next door to Homefront, on the main road.

I visited Mates this evening with my daughter, and her friend.

I have been coming to this island for 7 years, and this is the worst meal that I have ever experienced. In fact it's the only unacceptable meal that I have ever had in a restaurant here.

The food was bland, and it all appeared to have been reheated (you could hear the microwave in the kitchen)

It seemed as though there was not a chef, as only the snack menu, or the set Meze meal were available.

I know that they are struggling, but they will have to improve the standard of their food if they are going to be successful.

This is of course my opinion that is based on my experience, and may not be shared with others.
