Probably: 'Do you like sex and travel?' in Turkish!

Richard & I decided not to go.

Why?

Because the man can't speak English and, anyway, if all the concerted efforts of HBPG to 'right the wrongs' haven't made a scrap of difference, it seemed pointless to sit around listening to more of the same euphemistic clap-trap.

We will all just have to reluctantly accept that nepotism precludes change - that's the guts of it.

Didn't learn a lot as he only gave comforting words regarding the Oram's. It is indicative however that it was he that asked to speak to us rather than the other way round. It was a good opportunity for the BRS to pursue our concerns. Several people also brought to his attention some of the extreme problems in buying property here. I'm sure the BRS will follow these up.

His speaking through an interpreter was no more of a problem than all those other leaders who can't communicate in English.

I have no idea who Richard & I are, but we did not miss you. A big thank you to Dr Eroglu for taking time out with no benifit to himself.

Troodo

I'm Richard! At the meeting towards the end of last year at the same venue when I was the only expatriate that attended and asked the only (translated) question, which was rudely and curtly replied to with a lie, I found no reason to attend today! It must have been a pointless exercise, spouting off to those that can't vote on censored questions posed by the BRS committee, but I'm sure you enjoyed the free food and drinks which made your journey worthwhile!

The man has no vision. He is only good at using the facilities of the government to further his own gains.

Troodo/Msg 4:

So, Troodo, what exactly did Eroglu tell everyone (expats), apart from a series of euphemistic platitudes, that you appear to be so obsequiously grateful for?

Any changes in the offing that might help to kickstart the TRNC economy again?

Insofar as it's unlikely to affect me, apart from harbouring reservations concerning the likelihood of further stealth taxes, elko2 has succinctly summed the man up!

Quote from Cyprus Today 14/4 - "A list of questions prepared by the BRS also went unanswered".

There were about 30 questions on BRS list which were given to Eroglu at his request before the 'reception'. The idea was that Eroglu then answered them all in his speech - except he didn't.

The only feelings I picked up from the crowded room were frustration and disappointment. But it is good to see that someone above appreciate Eroglu giv ing of his time. But can someone explain why he had toleave early for another appointment, but was still at Pia Bella half an hour after finishing with the discontented ex pats.

Some extremely unhappy people with property questions left the building - as ghostly as Elvis!

Thank you, deecyprus; but after the last 'Pia Bella fiasco' and the frustration and 'bad taste in the mouth' it left with so many (expats) who participated, it had to be a foregone conclusion that attendance would have been a pointless exercise.

Regrettably, once again, this has been confirmed by MarieB, who I'm sure has 'no axe to grind'.

To date, the lack of any government initiative to tackle the ills beset by the constuction industry clearly portrays not only crass ignorance, but an appalling apathy towards the business community of TC citizens that can only be described as tantamount to criminal negligence and dereliction of duty.
