Should the restriction on members' avatars be reviewed. You have to admit that the vast bulk of members do not have their avatars on display. I think it's more fun (within the bounds of good taste) to allow the members to have whatever avatar they want... OK some can't be bothered and others prefer true likenesses but how do we know they are not actually a picture of a complete stranger anyway.....? However well intentioned, the restriction to photos of the member does not appear to have worked or built 'a sense of community' in any meaningful way.

If no one really cares why the restriction? I did say "some can't be bothered" but you obviously are bothered enough to make a comment.... The board used to be more fun, some people don't like fun I guess.

I thought the heading "Now that it's failed miserably" referred to a particular Manucunian football team! Now, regarding your point, it does not matter what we the members think, the avatar situation is unlikely to change. Hypothetically, if you offered Izzet £250 but that was in return for your own avatar, do you think he might agree?

Maybe after the donations made towards 44's maintenance costs he may reconsider? There are obvious & personal reasons why some people including myself don't want a picture of oneself on an open forum. I know of another North Cyprus forum that has peoples Birthdays on show. Then the user may put there location, Full name, Telephone number and Email address on display or in posts. Meaning anyone who wants to make identity theft will have access to, Your full name, date of birth, email address, Telephone number and location Uk/TRNC. Just from being a member!

How childish is this avatar business (thread nr. 18 about this subject?) going to be..?! Here's a solution, no kidding. 1) Pay ten pounds to Liz Spina (Guido's) for the charity "A New Arm for Ismail". 2) Mail me your favourite avatar (own design or 'borrowed' from the Internet). 3) I'll take care that everyone on this board in all your posts (and the whole wide world!) can see your avatar. Simple, isn't it? Now let's see how many board members find their avatar important and worth 10 pounds for a good cause... Avatar (example): http://is.gd/brVpW

'Childish' that's ironic from the man with the Crusader avatar all over the place? Hans why are you so confrontational when there is no need? I did say some are not interested, so why do you think it's necessary for you to comment on this thread? Or take people to task for bringing the post count up to 18 and in so doing, bringing the count up even further.... Not everything is deadly serious, God forbid that we should be sensible all the time... it's only a bit of fun.

Of course, Groucho, I know. Starting another thread (the twelfth or so on this board?) about avatars is just a bit of fun. So is designing avatars. Do you like my new avatar? http://is.gd/bssYn You know I appreciate your opinion.
