Hi there - We are staying in Lapta from 27th July - 10th Aug with our 2 daughters aged 18( We are in Puerto Banus - as we speak - celebrating her 18th - bit of a disaster -we daren't leave her to go out on her own! on an evening) and a 14yr old on the the day we leave Cyprus- 10th August!!!!)
They now don't want to come with us in 4 wks to Lapta - too boring!!!
HELP!!! Is there A Brits Bar - Karaoke etc that will keep them entertained in Lapta before we lose our 18yr old to Uni and the big wide world forever!!!

Tracy,
Jk's is OK, although very smokey, but you can always go on the roof.

This may not help for coming out on holiday but a good write up for those taking out their children to live in NC. Hope this works.

Hello Tracy F
Tell your children that they are spoilt, ungrateful little brats and would they rather a week in a tent in a field somewhere in rainy old England! Particularly your eldest daughter who will last about 5 mins at Uni with that attitude - who gets to go to Puerto Banus for their 18th birthday! Then gets to top up her tan, in one of the loveliest spots in the Med - please show her this message.
You don't need a disco/karaoke bar in N Cyprus little miss, if you were 'grown up enough' you would appreciate the country for what it was and give your poor mother a break from worrying. She's probably done enough of that for the past 18 years!
Sorry to sound rude, but I had the same problem last year with my son. Worried my head off (just the three of us went). We stayed at the Santoria Village which friends of mine own. Bit of shaky start, but after a few 'moody moments' he really go into the swing of things. It's about 10-15 minutes from Lapta, but has a nice pool and the owners always have some friends coming over from England and the atmosphere is great. Very family/teenage friendly. Please email me as I have friends with teenage children going over there in August - they could meet up. Dump your kids off and enjoy yourself.
Alternatively, hire an open top jeep, visit all the beaches (great to get to know people). Most importantly stop worrying (hard I know). We loved it so much, we bought somewhere and have been back 4 times since last August (I have lived in France, Spain and Italy)! My son can't wait to go back each time, even my stroppy (but gorgeous) teenage step daughter loves it!
Yes, it is a different type of holiday culture, but hopefully your daughter will stop throwing her toys out of her pram and spend some lovely time with you before she goes off to the big wide world.
I wish you the best of luck!
