A remembrance service for the late Robert Beckingham († 76), who lived in Karaman but died (on January 21, 2010) in England, is postponed to a later date. It was announced for this Saturday (Cyprus Today of April 10, page 6), but his sons cannot be in TRNC on time due to the problems of several airlines in the UK (the Iceland volcano eruption). The ashes of Robert were to be interred in Karaman's cemetery, but this also will happen on a later date. Please inform other people about this postponement if you know they would have liked to attend the remembrance service. Thank you.

I met Robert or Sir Robert as he was known, he was a colourful person formerly of Her Majesty's diplomatic service (a spook). He had many delightful stories to share and was a well read and interesting person to spend time with, his passing leaves all friends who knew him with a sadness.

RIP Robert
