So thanks to the Lisbon treaty the barganing chips are down but the roc have failed to notice

THE GOVERNMENT yesterday reiterated its proposal for the return of the closed city of Varosha to its lawful residents in exchange for the opening of the port of Famagusta to outside trade under EU control.

It came in response to EU efforts to revisit the regulation proposal on direct trade between the EU and the Turkish-occupied northern part of the island.

The proposal had been table during the presidency of late Tassos Papadopoulos.
