It really is about time these restaurants started to pay to advertise their menus and establishments on this site... a small amount per post would go a long way especially as certain restaurants are using the site as a 'booking' service too!!

Come on moderators get with the real world of supply and demand because you need donations and advertising income.

I agree with silverfox1, I don,t know you Lilli I am sure you are a hard working and nice person, but you can't get free advertising anywhere and a booking service.

So yes come on moderators the site needs money, so why not charge a small amount per post.

I don't mean to pick out any specific establishment but all that use this site to advertise.

Re messages 5 & 6.

It is not the 'moderators' that set the policies of the board. We only 'moderate' against set rules laid down by the owner. I would suggest you contact Izzet direct if you want to make your feelings known.

silverfox we advertise the menu on this board because we have been asked what's on the daily special. regarding the donation if you take the time to check the donors list you will realise what contribution came from guido's. if it was another way to let the members of this board know what's on today we would use it. advert on Cyprus today it is out of the question because i change the menu daily accordingly to the products i find on the day.

Oh for goodness sake- leave Liz alone, she is just providing information. There is nothing to stop other establishments doing the same. If you don't want to know what the menue of the day is, don't open the post.

Really, life is too short..............

Agree with Laptagal. I use Guido's sometimes as many people especially locals do. It's always nice to know what's on the menu. As with all posts, if you are not interested in the topic, don't open it.

You cannot post a message to that page Gooligan, it only appears there because it has Guido's in the title. Same as the For Sale page.

I personally like to read the menu of the day. If I don't like the subject of a post I don't read it. It's quite easy actually.

I agree with messages 11, 13 and 16. I'm not going there tonight but after reading the menu I wish that I was as it's just my sort of menu. It's quite easy from the title to tell what the contents are so why if you don't want to know do you just not open it. It's no big deal but don't try to stop other people enjoying reading threads that interest them.

Siverfox1.

Liz and Guido don't have the time to manage a website. The best way they can get info over is here on Cyprus44.

Plus Liz not only uses Cyprus44 for the restaurant she also advertises all the dogs that get DUMPED on her. Not to mention the other charities they support.

As message 16 and 17 say nobody forces you to open these posts if they don't interest you!

Message 21 and 22

I'm pretty sure that Liz is able to fight her own battles (if there was one), all that has been said is someones opinion which everyone is entitled to express, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same.

And I thought some of the posts on the * other * forum were childish !

Thank you hattikins we are all entitled to our opinion and I expressed mine, however I was not picking on any one (Guidos), I include all establishments, just to say that these businesses are advertising for free.

Considering the site is in need of funds, is this not another way of funding the site?

James Talbot: the forum is used by members for information. Guido's menu is information. If all such posts had to be paid for, the information just might dry up. What good would the forum be then. Personally I'd rather pay an annual members fee than restrict the advertising by business members. Having said that, I suppose that you are entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong.

All TRNC businesses are entitled to post on Cyprus44 and the majority have made donations to Cyprus44 but it is not a pre-requisite that they do so. That is purely for their conscience as to whether they donate or not.

If you take time out to look at the list of contributors you will know who has contributed.

Lets stop this bickering now and any one that has a problem with the way that this board is run should either contact me or the board owner via e-mail.

Hi silver fox whilst i value your opinion and also that of james talbot, i have to ask a question of SF, do you go on every single company estate agent , pool cleaners restaurant etc with the same message. no only me. are you connected to a restaurant. I would willing pay and have told Izzet so he replied this is for the community. Like it or not we are. Yes I spend a great deal of time on here and if you check my times its usually when i finish work as its my way of winding down. Through this forum I have had 25 dogs and 7 cats dumped on me mainly brits returning back . I have rehomed each and every one. So yes I do spend time and money on these animals. Why do you only pick on me not Taj Mahal, Parklane, Old Mill etc. You jump on me each time when I am requested to post these menus. You will not stop me only Izzet will, Time on my hands I wish. Jamestalbot i thank you also. What other restaurant posting would attract so much publicity. Thank you both x

hello Lilli,

Please believe me I did not intend a personal attack on you or Guido's, I have seen your good work on this site for the 6 months or so i have lived here with lost and stray dogs, and I commend you for that and the service you provide to the community.

Mine was a general comment
