It may have been posted elsewhere, although i have looked and not found anything, but our friend Hans Doeleman, got a mention in an article in the Dutch free paper METRO, here is a link to the article (hopefully!), however it is in dutch, so only a few of you will be able to read it and my dutch is not good enough to translate it . http://www.readmetro.com/show/en/MetroHolland/20100416/1/7/

Don't worry. A lot of Dutch people speak English, Mr. Crusader's better than most Britons.

I mentioned before on this board that the first flight to Northern Cyprus by the Dutch/Turkish airline "Corendon" had about 70 Dutch journalists and people from travel businesses on board. A week or so ago I met the group at St Hilarion, where my friend and TRNC guide Mustafa Tolgali showed them the castle. Later that day I did two Kyrenia Walks with the group, pro forma supervised by an official TRNC guide, which was much appreciated. In the mean time I did my best to give the journalists - some of them I had not seen for many years! - an objective impression of the political situation and the economic burden of the Turkish Cypriots. I did not hide where my sympathy is and I'm glad that in published articles and in text still to come many Dutchmen will learn more about the Northern part of the island I love. P.S. The Netherlands had never any connection with Cyprus (unlike the UK) and for many Dutchmen Cyprus is often just another island.

In case you can read the article in "Metro" (link in message 1) I want to make it clear that the reporter used "Grieken" (Greeks), where I spoke about Grieks-Cyprioten (Greek Cypriots). Just for the record: I do know the difference.
