Just had a phone call from BA to say the earliest they could rebook us to fly back to Heathrow is April 28th

Nice to have a longer break but this is too long a delay now

Anyone had a better experience than this?

Hi Ian

Yes - I was in Cyprus and flew home last Tuesday, then had to come over to Boston in the US for a work meeting. Should have returned Friday, which was obviously cancelled. Got rebooked at the airport to 25 April earliest, but remain on standby. To top it all, it is the Boston marathon tomorrow and all the hotels are sold out, so having to move each day ( and paying eye watering rates). To be fair though, the people at both BA here and the hotel staff are doing all they can to help.

Weather is also horrible - around 5 degrees and wet - to be stuck in Cyprus would be great !!

Yes it is a good place to get stuck. Hope you get back soon.

BA have communicated extremely well both by telephone and email, had a call from BA on the dark side who was very polite

Rather be here than Boston!

Scarlets,

We have had the same news from BA, our flight was supposed to be tomorrow from LHR to LCA.

What do we do now, but sit and wait.

Lilli,

Just re-booked for 19TH May.

At least we are still at home and not stranded at Heathrow, or elsewhere. Poor people.

I am also looking forward to having you and Guido for THE ULSTER FRY. I have been practising and hope that 'yer man' might give me that extra point. xx

Be in touch.

Much Love to you and Guido x See you when we see you.

So yet another thread becomes a Lilli/Guido advert, telling her customers how wonderful they all are.

I was trying to read a travel thread, then you butted in, as you do so often!

Lilli, please get off the General board and move yourself to the Restaurants or other advertising boards.

Thank you.

Regards,

Ozbey.

Hi Scarletts

Friends of mine due to fly back from Larnaca to Heathrow Monday.

They obviously know the flight is cancelled but have had no email or telephone calls from BA

They have tried to contact BA in UK without success do you have a number for the office in Nicosia?

Thanks for any help you can give

Regards

B

Just arrived at LAX to be told that the first flight they can maybe fly us out on is April 30th. We have Pegasus flights out of Stansted on April 22nd, so will have to try to change them. BA have given us 4 days of accommodation and food in the Marriott (worth $1200) and then we are on our own to fend for ourselves! I suppose it could be worse!

Hi aripointer , " it is about time the mods stopped the hijacking of threads from Guido's " Wouldn't that be discrimination ? im sure you mean't to say " it is about time the mods stopped the highjacking of all threads . If that would be the case , there wouldn't be many threads left as most threads are highjacked to a certain degree { and innocently enough } and then mods would be accused of being heavy handed .....

Have a good day , Simbas
