Sky HD Box for sale - Brand new still in wrapping, complete with accessories/remote control.

It has a 160gb hard disc giving all the benifits of a Sky + box.

This is a "non contract" box which means it doesn't have to be plugged into the phone line in order for it to work, so it will work perfectly over here.

Will accept - 450 YTL.

spud,

Do us a favour and button it please....

£99 is a "contract box" - you have to sign a 12 month contract with Sky and have it connected to a uk phone line for 12 months, which obviously folk out here can't...

mine is a "non contract" box,....

Howdy Johnboy

Excellent price for this piece of ultra high tec equip, and I take it you will be erecting the dish and doing the install thing aswell with a group of semi naked yung Ruskies. what a deal.

it depends what you want groucho:

to receive the domestic uk channels bbc 1234 and itv 1234,

you must pull in astra 2d which is tightly focused on the uk

and 4.2m carefully set-up is essential for all-weather reception

believe that the sky sports are on astra 1c (?) where you can

get away with 1.8m

Would this kit mean it is a one of payment for Sky. Or could you use your UK card to get the channels you subscribe to in UK? Excuse my ignorance on the matter.

Billy,

it is just the receiver box - the same as you'd have in the uk - you need a dish (either 1.8m or 4.2m) and a card, either a subscription card, which you'd have to pay back in the UK, or a freeview card, available for a one off payment of £20 to Sky.....

With all the free time most Brits have over here, and knowing how awful BBC Prime and BBC World is on Dodgy Turk, I cannot believe why everyone hasn't got Sky....

hi guys

even thou that is a good price if you going to use the hd box for actually watching hd channels you will need a 4.2 dish because the hd channels are on a weaker signal

bb you could use your uk card from home in another box but you wont get the movie channels or sports because the card which has the full package on need to be paired up to the box you are using and in your case your box is in the u.k

what you could do is take out a second subscription pair it up to the box you buy then take it out to cyprus you dont have to have it connected to the telephone line i have done loads off sky sales here in turkey and not one is connected to a line and thats normal sky - sky+ and skyhd

johnboy

belive you mate sky is crap compared to some of the channels you cant get from other satalittes, more sports, more films, more of everything, the only thing sky has got is the bbc's and the itv's

Hello uturk

Could I bring my multi room box over with the card I subscribe to with sky from UK, all I would then need is a dish and some co-axe?

hi billy

is your multi box connected to the telephone line, in the past if you got multi room then you would have to have it connected to the telphone line this was to avoid you taking it abroad or even selling it because of the fact that you are paying a subsidised rate for your second box

now if this is the case you can always buy a second hand box from the market and take it out with you aswell as the card but the only thing with this is you wont be able to watch the premium channels cos the card has to be paired up to the box, and yes you will only need a dish 1.8 min with a lnb and rg cable from the dish to the box

hope ths helps

Hi Ukturk,

I am a girl and will immediately admit no knowledge of how these things work. I am in the UK at mo and moving out to live in Cyprus permanently at the end of July. I currently have sky (I am tied into a contract at mo) I have the sky box that you can tape 2 channels at the same time (yip I really know my stuff don't I ...?) anyway, I also have an older black box which is on its way to Cyprus in our container. I still have time to sort things out at UK end. My property in the UK will be rented out when we move and I do have a sister in law who is considering installing sky and would probably be happ to take on my contract as she would pay a reduced rate as we would share the overall bill if we got an extra box. So my question is 'what is the best way to go about this'.

And no, I'm not blond, I am a natural brunette but admittedly slightly dim when it comes to techno stuff.

Many thanks in advance.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Avril
