I pay mine through them, and although your bill gets delivered to you about the 1st of each month the bank dont take any money until about 24th each month. Never had a problem check again in a few days time.

I think it works the same way as it does for HSBC. Basically, Kibtek take the money from your account 30 days after the date they read the meter. On the bill Okuma Tarihi is the date the meter was read.

Contact for Iktisatbank is yilsen.diker@iktisatbank.com

Yes, I used to have the same with HSBC, if fact the bill would usually come with the last months amount still on it, but it was always paid at the end of the month by HSBC and strangely, I was never charged interest, so think this must be the standard way when paying via the bank.

Just a word of caution about paying bills this way - if Kibtek misread the meter and subsequently take too much from the account, they will not refund it. They will hold the money as credit against future bills, this happened to one customer to the tune of several thousand lira.

This is why I like paying via HSBC as you can see, online, how much Kibtek are going to take a few days after the meter has been read and in plenty time to get it sorted if it is wrong.

Hi,

We finally got our electric meter installed last week and set up a direct debit with HSBC but don't know if we're supposed to tell Kibtek that we've done this or do the bank automatically let them know. Does anyone know?

Diggy, the bank deals with it, you need not do anything!

Last time we had to go there, the list of banks with whom this type of transaction can be set up was on display behind the counter at the KibTek Office in Girne. Funnily enough, Iktisat Bank wasn't on the list but we know they do it...

If you have internet banking with HSBC you can check how much the bill is going to be by selecting tab 'Bill Payments' and then clicking on 'Bill Preview'. The amounts will show up a couple of days after Kibtek have taken the meter reading. Normally, the payment is taken from your account on the 30th day after the reading so you have time to query it if it looks wrong.
