RE msg 1: "Douwe Egberts koffie" is a Dutch brand and the beans are heavily roasted for the Dutch taste. "Jacobs Kaffee" is German and not as strong as Douwe Egberts. You can buy D.E. at Tempo's in Karaoğlanoğlu, but it's not always available. Unfortunately D.E. is twice as expensive there as in Holland!

RE msg 7, my friend Lilly: (...) i have probably spelt it wrong. (...) => Yes, wrong, my friend Lilly! But more important: ask in İLELİ (or Ileli if you don't use Turkish fonts on your computer) for some special product and they will try to get it for you. It's definitely the best shop with the most friendly staff on the Girne-Lapta stretch. [Well said, Dutch_Crusader!].

İLELİ (or Ileli if you don't use Turkish fonts on your computer) is a Turkish Cypriot süpermarket opposite the Denizhan Restaurant and between the former Chinese restaurant(s) that used to be there and the Ravine restaurant ((which was and is famous for its 'Fish 'n chips' (packed in the the Daily Mail or The Sun on request - groan!)). Try İLELİ (or Ileli if you don't use Turkish fonts on your computer) - they deserve you as a customer!
