| Where can you get what a long term rental or Tenancy agreement?? The tenancy agreement comes from your landlord and is then taken to your local muctar or mayor in the village you live in for signing and stamping. You then take the original tenancy document and a copy of it to the tax office in town which again will need stamps. You will need this for your residency if you are foreign and not a local. |

| I rent out my house and have done so for over a year now. As Landlord you quite rightly draft the Tenancy Agreement and then you and Tenants sign. I then took mine down to the Tax office in Girne who were very helpful and had to go across the road to set up an account, this was then stamped and I had to pay about 150 TL as well as first months tax. No need to involve Muktar at all. My tenants now each month pay the tax for me and we are all happy. They get their residency, along with any other official licences they require- all above board. I am lucky I have wonderful tenants. |
