Seems that not too many people are interested in this post, and for sure, I'll not be starting another one on the same topic however, should anyone spot a Kiwi flag draped over an apartment block tomorrow, drop in for a beer and whatever scraps of food is left. All Nationalities welcome! Bet you can't find me! Richard

For those who may have missed it before. A dedication by Ataturk 1934. Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives.... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours... You, the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well Ataturk was the officer comanding the Turkish forces at Gallopli

NCMan So have the Mods, got banned, justly so, but allowed me back for ANZAC Day which is very important to me. my Great Uncle died there and when I went in 2003 I just couldn't find his grave though didn't do a thorough job as it was so bloody cold! Anyway, I'm having a call in, open house party tomorrow with my alarm clock set for 4.55 am to watch on whatever TV Turkish channel is showing Gallipoli. Can't guarantee the food as I'll be knackered to adhere to perfection, better go to Guido's! Richard

Well, here it is, I couldn't find live coverage on Turkish TV but a few documentaries in Turkish, so much for waking at 5 am! Have a Steinlager or Efes and think of those that died! Richard
