Has anyone bought on Discovery Bay? If so, have you been re-located from Sweetwater View in 3 bed "Marina View" type villas with communal pools? Any info welcome on these two subjects welcome

Hello Daisy
Welcome to the board, we originally purchased at Sweetwater View and have agreed to be located to Discovery Bay pending our solicitor receivng all the necessary building permissions and site approval plans - we are however still waiting for NE-SA to produce these.

Thanks for replying. We, plus a couple of our friends purchased on Discovery Bay. I was out there last week, am returning this Sat for a week, and will be there again 11th-18 August too. Its a great location. Thought it was about time we tried to find some more of our new neighbours.
Regards

What plot number are you? We are 14, if possible could you take some photos.
The last ones we saw were taken by Vienna Girl (board member) who was there at the end of May, our foundations have not yet been laid as far as we are aware.
Enjoy your trip

Hi, I take it you mean Plot A13 on Marina Park. There's a seperate forum already running on Marina Park. You will be able to contact them through that link. I am hoping to contact Discovery Bay purchasers.
Thanks for your reply

Hi, Sweetwater View purchasers have been relocated to Discovery bay by Nesa Construction because of problems with access to the site. I haven't found anyone unhappy with their relocation to the fantastic site at Discovery Bay.

Hi Bojoy and Daisy,
it was originally Sweet Water View and now is plot 13 Discovery bay the contract so far emailed does dot have ant titles on it but plotB13 1/30 share of registration 5505 /5447 hope nowone else has this as I was the first purchaser on Sweetwater and first on Discovery bay. i am told one investor purchased about 10 on the site.Would love to exchange emails with other purchsers as we will need to set up some form of network to protect our interests. Dont you agree. I do not know the safest way to exchange details is it best to write email address down on this site or mobile telephone number which can each vet.

Has anyone read this weeks Cyprus Observer?
All work has stopped on a Kyrenia construction site of 30 villas following year-long inspections by the Council of Constructors reavealed that the constructing company had failed to obtain the necessary permissions. The site being built by Ne-Sa Construction and Investment Ltd, had disregarded both written and spoken notices issued by the Council of Constructors and was subsequently sealed with the cooperation of Kyrenia District Office.

Hi All
Tugce contacted me on Friday and said that the work was stopped briefly in the week whilst a paper was submitted but everything is back working now. She also informed me that the concrete structure is now done on ours ( plot 15) which it wasn't in June when we were there so I am pleased.
If anyone is going over in the near future, some new photos would be good, I am there end of August/begining of September so I will of course take some too.

Hi All
We were one of the first purchasers at Sweet Water View and one of the first to agree a relocation to Discovery Bay. We were told that the price of our villa at Discovery Bay would be the same price as the one at Sweet Water View. We were subsequently informed we would need to pay a lot more if we wanted to relocate.
I was wondering if others being relocated are paying more or the same?

I've asked Beths for your e-mail so we can communicate off the forum. Hope that's OK.

Hi Jessie, I have heard from that is the case with most people that have relocated to Discovery Bay. It seems that Alpan Uz offers a deal then ups the cost. How much more have u ben asked for?? Thousands I guess?????

On reading all of the above, it would seem to me to be a common ploy by Ne-Sa to relocate and charge more. We thought it was a one off situation when we bought way back in 2005, and still waiting to move in.
We originally bought on a site which was never developed at Tatlisu (albeit through no fault on Ne-Sa's part, from what we were told), and were relocated to Mayfair Park at a cost well in excess of the original price. Further charges have been added on such as extra £5000 for water and electricity. Many other incidentals such as not providing fences as per contract, making it a communal site etc.
Unwins say that their hands are tied and can do nothing, but they are the sole agents for Ne-Sa construction. So long as they have their commission, who cares?
I cannot fault the house build at all, and the development is lovely. It is Ne-Sa's tactics that I question.

Unwins act for the seller not the buyer... you did not pay them commission did you? I think the builder might have....

No Groucho, we didn't pay commission, but they will have obtained their cut from the sale. As you rightly say this comes from the builder, so apologies for the misleading statement above.

Can anyone shed any light on the fact that estate agents are not supposed to receive their commission until all transactions are complete?
