They have been spraying the past few nights in Alsancak/Karaoglanoglu area Chris. The mossies are out in force early this year. Wish there was an easy way of keeping them at bay. Ian

Hi Ian, I feel sorry for anyone who gets bitten by the wee blighter's and not sure if spraying the streets is the answer as I think it just sends them into a frenzy! Sounds like you are still enjoying your holiday anyway Ian love to Karen. Chris

Navek, These things have been about for years and I have never found anyone who says they work. They usually end up in the bin after a couple of days. Chris

Hi nurseawful, I know what you're saying, we've got drawers full of Mozzie cures, my wife gets bitten in winter :-0 The thing with cures etc, they work for some but not others :-( all to do with blood types they say. Here's another one to look at... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GXOByRq4Uk&feature=related Navek

I have previously and frequently posted on how to make your own 'After Bite Balm' - here we go again: Buy half a litre of 'medical' ammonia from a pharmacy and a bottle of 'Johnson's Baby Oil' + a tiny bottle of concentrated 'Tea Tree' oil. Save your (spray) 'Johnson's 'OFF' bottles - fill 3/4 full with ammonia (watch you don't inhale, or you'll pass out!), add 1 teaspoon of the baby oil + 5-6 drops of 'Tea Tree' oil. Shake vigorously to emulsify prior to application on skin, which should not be in any confined space, near children or pets; definitely not near the eyes, or nostrils. Too harsh to be used on infants. Repeat applications may be required before irritation subsides. This is the best anti-itch method I've found - I've given many samples to friends - they've ALL agreed.

| Hi Chris Karen and I are having a good time thanks. Had a good night in Guidos last night but won't mention on here in case it upsets some. Will be there again on Tuesday as it's our last night until July We've had a ball but what can we do regarding the mossies? As a fully qualifies nurse what can we do to prevent getting bitten? | Oxoners they work for me too. I got mine in M & S in the UK. Navek the China Garden used to have a machine like that but I think it is probably Kaputt as it hasn't been in action for a couple of years now. Shame it worked too. |
