Lilly I admire your spirit, with all the crap you are putting up with on this forum, you still find time to continue posting items of interest to many people, keep it up.

don't chuck in the towel, they will have won then and you would be a sad loss to the forum and the community, i have read your replies to many posts, and you seem to be a genuine and caring person, don't let them get to you.

Kind Regards James x

Liz dont you dare talk like that, it is bloody hard enough trying to run a decent business here and putting up with all the crap that goes with it without having to put up with it here as well.

Maybe some of these people who are having a go at you would like to club together and pay for an advert in the paper which believe me is not cheap, then you would not need to advertise here, until they do you just carry on and dont let them get to you. It is very easy to sit behind a screen and run people down and i suppose we should feel sorry for them that they have nothing better to do with their time.

My son Alex and his wife are in London today for the Marathon, unfortunately Alex had to withdraw last minute as his leg gave up midweek, and he had to have an operation on his hip. However now on crutches, he is there to support his wife. Two years ago he had his bowel removed and then ran the Marathon last year. He has already booked in for the next one in 2011.

They have a home in Karsyaka.

Bridie,

Well done to your son and good luck to his wife. People like your son are an inspiration to us all, a lot of people after a big illness just throw in the towel and give up, but he obviously has a lust for life. And I am willing to bet he and his wife were doing the run for a really good cause.

If he needs any help when he get back to NC tell him to call the nurses on 0533 884 5621.

I think it is pathetic that the Red Arrows have entered a team as they will be finished in about 3 minutes. My Wildebeest (bless her) thinks it is great and is proud to be British but does have some concerns about all the red, white, and blue smoke choking the crowds. If that is the case, let them do a "Victory Roll" over Parliament and land on 10 Downing Street !

Thankyou for your kindness, I have passed on your message to them both. Yes they are very strong and won't let this thing beat them, and they are doing things they would never have dreamt of doing. For a start, their beloved labrador has just died, so they have put their house on the market in the UK, are buying a yacht and taking to the high seas and wintering in their Kibris home. Lynn is running for the Macmillan Trust and Alex was running for the RNLI. He trains the drivers of the RNLI offshore rescue craft as a part of his work, along with teaching sailing to a very high level.

Heard some useless information yesterday on the forces radio, when the marathhon first start in 1981 (I think) there where 7747 entries this year the are 51000, last year over £45,000,000 was raised for charities during the Marathon.

Now did you know that!!!!!

Well done to anyone that has the strenght and will to do it. Some times dream I'm running, even then I wake up tried!!

I had the 'pleasure' of running the first one in 1981 and the atmosphere was great still a long way that last 260 yards haha!! - would have been better if I had known Efes before!!!

Well done Lilli on an interesting post and wonderful to hear what others say and all those other participants well done and not just for the run but the money they raised for all the truly wonderful causes. Its more of a marathon collecting the pledges!!

Well done Donna. It is the taking part that counts no matter what the time and the longer you are on your feet the worse it is. I had the privilege of taking part in the Hastings centenary marathon in November 2008 and the last Flora London marathon last year.

Well done to all this years runners.

Well done Looseboots I did the centenary Hastings Marathon, that was far harder than London, still remember the beach section at 24 miles, managed to creep in just under 5hours. Do you run in the TRNC, we are out for a couple of months in June?
