| Would like to know a bit more about this, and maybe dispell some myths. Snakes, yes, was told to watch out for the black ones, they are to be avoided, then told no, watch out for the small yellow ones instead. I have been fortunate enought to see 2 black, quite large, snakes, thought them quite fascinating (from a distance). But, please, which ones are dangerous, and where are the places they are more likely to be found? And the birds as well, some look very much like the species we have, but I can't find any literature that gives any information such as names and habits - I am particulary interested in the bird that inhabits the field next to my house - sounds v much like a peacock, and anyone who has heard that irritating call will know what I mean :(. It gets closer and closer, and louder and louder, then moves on (after about 2 weeks) and try as I might, I have never caught sight of it - I have become quite paranoid about it, ie waking up at 5.30am trying to get a glimpse of it... |

| Black snakes are not dangerous - you still dont wanna get bitten of course! Yellow ones are one of the most dangerous snakes in the world. :D The British brought the black snakes into island in old times to kill the rats. I am sure someone else can tell us more about this. About birds, you may refer to this page: http://www.cyprus44.com/holidays/bird-watching.asp There is a contact no. for the bird protection society at bottom. |
