I am not a mathematician and need help to calculate whether I should buy Euro's here with TL or wait and buy them when I am in UK with GBP.

Which is the better option?

How do I calculate this myself?

Thank you

In my experience, changing sterling in TRNC is always the better option. Better exchange rate.

I thought there would be a few mathematicians on here that could tell me how to calculate this ............please????

I have either Turkish Lira here or I have sterling in UK, which I will pick up once I get there. I just don't know how to work out which is better ie to change my TL into Euros whilst here or wait until I get to UK and change my sterling into Euro's.

Would appreciate other views on this.

Thank you.

work out the tl exchange rate to GBP and then look on line and see what the euro is at the mo to GBP and then have a look locally and work it out from that!

The tl is stronger against the euro than the pound is against the euro at the moment,so I changed tl to euro at Supreme supermarket and got 1.113 (gbp equivalent),that is not very far from the commercial rates shown on the FX markets for GBP/€.

I meant that the rate I got at the time was good compared to anywhere else at the time.

But of course you knew what I meant didn't you?

Actually the rate then was about what it is now.
