MarieB, no they weren't for sale, they were just there for the day...to be honest they looked a bit too young to be out...but then, they are such tiny little things...i would be afraid of stepping on one!! lol

Go to the Fez, Meet the 2 there. I am sure they will tell you where to get them from.

They are great dogs as if you get fed up with them you can always make slippers out of them.

Hi Yorgozlu, I'm not sure if you're joking or not but if you are serious then you could try Pets Stop in Kyrenia. I think they will be able to get you one for about 2000TL. The website is http://www.pets-stop.com

I tried to get a tiny Yorkie (I used to have one) and I was told they would order one - never heard another word, and as that was two years ago, I guess they couldn 't find one!

nikegirl;

re msg 11;

We went there the other day.They can order one,but my wife is not very happy about an animal taking a month for door to door delivery,and to be honest,neither am I.It is very cruel for an animal to travel a month in a cage.

Thanks for the info nonetheless.

a month?!? that's crazy! where is it going to be travelling from? i thought they would just get it from the south side or istanbul or something. i totally agree with you that a month in a cage is completely wrong.

let me know if you find any other more reasonable options because I'm interested in chihuahuas too

Why not opt for a weekend in Istanbul and look for a reputable breeder? There are even a few no-cage pet shops over there that you could visit. I took a look at sahibinden.com and they seem to be around 400-600 euro and you wouldn't pay much to carry it onboard the plane with you. With a bit of planning you could get a puppy with his/her vaccines completed and you could possibly avoid quarantine. I think quarantine is now 3 weeks at home if vaccinated against rabies?

That's good news about quarantine if correct. ! Does that apply to U.K imports as well?

As to time of delivery of a puppy, I was told that the shop imported them from Hungary or Russia! It's a long walk, I guess. But they have to find one and then shop it, and maybe it is not actually a month in transit, but getting the paper work?

Just loooked at the sahibinden site and see that both Cup size Chihuahua and yorkies are available at 700euros. When I have saved the other 699 plus air fare, I might go get one! But that does seem a good price - would cost you far more in U.K, wouldn't it.
