He is allowed 3 months stay at each visit.

Rules seem to have a habit of suddenly changing in Cyprus, so bringing a large dollop of dosh would definitely be good insurance!

If he has a British passport there should be no problem as long as he only enters as a visitor

Hi

Please check it out with the ASAL SUBE at asal@guvkk.net, they are usually good at responding, give them the full details i.e name and surname etc... and they should be able to tell you his status.

Good luck !

If he was born in the UK he can just say, if asked on entry/exit, that his Dad was a Pakistani, hence the name and the complexion.

Assuming he holds a British Passport and does not have a kimlik. Therefore provided he stays no longer than the entrance stamp/visa in his passport, it is unlikely that he will be press ganged.

If you guys are not gonna listen,I'm gonna stop giving out infos!!!

Kimlik/no kimlik,TRNC passaport/or not.Everything is irrelevant,if you have TC parents you are required to do "national service."

To avoid, you stay no more then 3 months/90 days at each visit.

Whether, you pay your way around it or do the whole required time is another story.

ps.I often heard people whilst in UK saying that,"they should bring back national service."

my friend has just got papers for his son and he is only allowed to visit NC a maximum of 90 days a year.

but if he didnt have the relevant paperwork he would be detained at the airport.

His only connection is his grandfather was turkish, his parents and he were born in UK

Maybe you can put my mind at rest

I am a british passport holder, born in britain, hold a kimlick and both my parents were born in cyprus....

My ex husband is british with a british passport, he did not have to do army service in cyprus when we lived out there, as he had served in the british army

would our son have to do army service in TRNC?

Thanks in advance

I have a question:

Is doing 2 weeks army service really that bad?

i am a 33 year old TC, born in the UK and am also looking to stay longer than my 90 days

i could pay up the £4k ( that was the amount last time i checked) and buy my way out

or i could do 4 weeks army, split into 2 seperate 2 weeks? ( i believe you still have to pay to do it this way but not as much as 4k)

or you could pay nothing and do the 2 years.....which is not a gonna happen! lol

so my question is......how bad can 2 weeks in the army be?

p.s and if im not mistaken you also get weekend leave? so its only really 10 days then another 10 days within 3 years?

i know someone who loved the army made great friends and drank merry every night with the top brass

he is austrlian turk and could not speak much turkish and this is no longer a problem and now sells house security alarms and still compliments his great days in the army

so depends what committments you have
