Get a life! There are more dangerous things in NC to worry about, nothing has worried us while we have lived here. I suspect your having a laugh anyway, Cyprus is very safe.

I hate spiders and have never seen one in our five years of hotels and three years in first floor apartment. Never seen a snake either - a few big lizards, but no need to tell her that!

Hi, don't want to scare anyone, but have seen both. VERY BIG spider one night when we were leaving the Padisa Restaurant in Girne - fighting with a cat no less. Think that was a Tarantula. Not sure who won the fight, but my money was on Tyson Tarantula! And, yes, there are snakes, big ones that I think don't do you any harm, and small brown ones that can give a nasty bite. But, never had either in the house yet! Supergran.

My husband is terrified of snakes and he has seen 2 recently which was quite traumatic for him (black and either yellow or red, I wasn't with him). I am scare of spiders but fortunately have only seen ones of any major size dead! I was viewing a house with an estate agent that will remain nameles and there was a dead tarantula on the bathroom floor!!! Needless to say we didn't put in an offer... However, we've not actually seen either in or around our house. To be honest, I think these kind of sightings are fairly rare. Most people I know have never seen any at all in several years. I think we just had an unlucky run!

Hey, I din't sign up to any venemous snakes. This wasn't in the small print when I signed the contract Looked at the web for more details on the Viper. This little sucker packs quite a punch. I intend to avoid it's path whereever I can
