The next BRS Blood Donors Day is at Girne Hospital on Saturday the 22nd May.



It cost you nothing to give a unit of blood and you can save someones life.

I certainly will NOT be there! I'm sorry to hear that Chris has given up on her worthwhile project of a 'blood donor registry' for those that will donate in an emergency however, giving up her treasured 'data base' to the BRS is somewhat questionable.

I was called by the BRS at the end of last year to quickly present myself at Nicosia hospital to donate, for an eighty year old gent who had fallen and needed my blood group for a life saving operation the following day, this happily done with a few other expatriates, I never heard how successful the surgery went; thanks BRS for the follow up!

On the other hand I will certainly be there.



Two anonymous local persons donated when my rare blood-group Wife had to have surgery.



None of them felt the need for a "follow-up" to donate.





If technically possible, may I suggest that a blood drive is conducted at Lambousa Market one Saturday each year.

Gordon if you could organise that it would be wonderful but you will first of all have to liase with Lefkosa Hospital (blood bank) If you want any help just get in touch.

I've never been anonymous but when my personal details are inter-traded between two totally differing organisations, I object! This was meant in no way as self-promotion.



It's just that with 2,000+ people through the doors on a Saturday there might be a greater chance of having more blood donated. I'll take it up with the BRS directly.



May I suggest that if you wish to be insulting then have the temerity to do it in person and not over the internet. I'm at the market all day.
