Harita, I know the quarantine laws have changed and I think the dog only has to stay in ovenight (if landing at Ercan late) but the cost is pretty astronomical as the pet still has to have had all it's injections including yearly boosters, kennel cough vaccine, anti-rabies shots (the blood tests are expensive for this) plus the usual worming and flea treatment. We brought our 2 out from UK when we moved here (2 small dogs) and it cost more than it did to bring a container load of goods! For all the cost and time involved unless they were staying for months I don't think it would be worth it.

Bear in mind that it would also have to spend a long time in (expensive!) quarantine upon return to the UK...

Yes You can bring your pet intto larnaca as long as you have the pet passport, also according to DEFRA you can also send them back via Larnaca providing the meet all the requirements.Only problem is the ROC defy DEFRA and wont allow pets across the border .

As an alternative, leave your dog at home and "borrow" a dog from KARS for a walk around Besparmak....
