Looking on the map the route to Paralimini from Esentepe appears to be via Famagusta.

is there a border crossing in Famagusta that would take me in this direction.?

Has anyone driven there? Directions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi

I go via Famagusta, just go straight over the roundabouts, (not literally) you will pass the University when you come to the last roundabout. You will know it by the fact on the opposite side there is a taxi rank and 2 palm trees, take that exit. Be careful there are speed cameras when you least expect them near the crossing.

yes there is a border crossing there. when you cross you will be in the british soverign base camp, just drive through and when you come to a garage on your left take the 2nd left after (georges restaurant is on the corner) This is the road to paralimini, aya napa, protares etc

Try going over border at Beyermadu/pyle crossing, approx 1.5km turn left at 't ' junction you go over Dhekelia airfield (it is mainly used for gliding) then turn left approx .5km you cross over motorway A3 turn right onto motorway and you will be on the road to Paralimni approx 25km.

I was in Paralimini yesterday and the place is still in chaos. The main road (April 1st Street) is being widened and repaired. The turn off the new Island that leads to Orphanides and Protaras was closed, the diversion was not great and was unsigned.

It is not a great town anyway, but the shopping is good (new frozen food shop opened up). All we need now is for Lidl to actually open.

Take the north mountain road from esentepe to gecitakali there is a petrol station on your left, turn right passed the silver mosque and turn left this takes you on to the main Famagusta-kyrenia road, where you again turn left when you get to the first big roundabout go right round to the right signposted Larnaca then straight through till you see another roundabout signposted Larnaca to the right keep straight on to Border and then follow corbytown's directions, simple eh! No idea what it is called NCMan,

It is easy to find though no signs, so with the University on your right just go keep going straight until you see the taxi rank and palm trees.

It takes 20 mins from Farmagusta to Paralimini. The car has been checked most times so be careful. Mind on a couple of occasions the guy didn't even put his paper down lol.

Paul Hello,I vowed i wouldn't cross the border and spend my hard earned pennies over there.

As the old song says "I will do anything for love" Love of my pooch that is.

Paralimini has a pet shop, the only one on the island that stocks Fish4dogs. natural treats no addatives which she loves.

For her I am prepared to break my vow, attempt to complete the journey, pay the insurance, face the enemy.

All for love.

Hilltop I assume you're jesting about Lidl opening.Shame, their ribs are to die for

The Lidl in Paralimini has been fully built for 2 years as have a number of others around the RoC. The problem seems to be protectionism by other supermarkets.

To find Pet parade, Cross at Ay Nik as described earlier. Take the second turn after the petrol station and keep going to Frenaros. Turn left in Frenaros and keep going through Derynia and Paralimini. At the far side of Paralimini is Carrefour on your left. Pet parade is a couple of hundred metres past that on the left hand side.
