coming back from Nicosia this morning on the Yimazkoy Lapta road we came across some teenage lowlife riding a donkey so hard and fast that the poor animal couldn`t keep his footing. In addition he was beating the animal on the head with a large bamboo cane. We stopped and remonstrated but the little s**t just laughed and shot across the fields while knocking seven bells out of the donkey. Now, did we over-react or should we have minded our own business?

hi , no you did'nt over react , at least you brought it to his attention , hopefully it gave him cause to think about his actions , cruelty is not acceptable towards pets or working animals

Hopefully one day the donkey will have had enough and throw him against a rock.... it not easy to stay on a donkey that doesn't want to be ridden...

As for taking the law into your own hands... be very careful. The police will have you off the island without your feet touching the ground if you assault a local no matter what they were up to - it might make you feel better about though.

I agree totally, I hate cruelty, especially to animals.

Years ago, these creatures gave pleaure to 1000's of kids on Ryde sands, now they're retired.

I support this charity
