Hi everyone,

It is now just 2 weeks to go before our furniture heads on its way to TRNC. The house has boxes everywhere, we spent all last week running back and forth to the tip after emptying the loft which was full of 18 years of hoarding. ( I did recycle as much as I could) We then spent a whole day yesterday cancelling the direct debits as all the bills are paid that way.

It really started to sink in then for the first time what we are doing, and I had a few private tears. Dont get me wrong its what I definately want to do, but it isnt easy when the moment arrives to say good-bye to family and friends.

Well I am back thinking positive now and cant wait for our new life to begin and to hopefully make some new friends.

There is a thunder storm here at the moment, I am not happy, I was watching the womens tennis final and the tv went down. Missed the end

Moving On

I am moving on

reaching toward my hopes and dreams

It has taken me far too long

to reach this place, it seems

My fears may try to hold me back

To try and block my way

But with courage and faith in my heart

I will get there come what may

The road will be a long one,

And it may be rocky, too

But when I reach this place in time,

My dreams could all shine through

I am coming nearer to my goals

And my excitement grows

The plans I have made will soon be real

Along with the destiny I chose

Though I have been tossed and turned in life's storms

I will surely see a brighter dawn

I'm no longer held back by my fears

I'm finally....Moving On

Hi Tony

Thanks for that , the poem is really sweet.

Sounds as if it was wrote for me and others who go through the same emotions.

Hi Debra,

What a brave soul you are starting again with two children, look upon it as an adventure and you will come through. My very best wishes to you all.

Hi Debs,

After the wagon left with our stuff, nearly 3 years ago now, we shed a bucketful of tears. Mostly about the good times in the house and especially the happy times we had had with our cats and now leaving there graves behind.

We retired here so a different ball game to you but we have never regretted one day leaving England behind.

Good Luck

David

hi debs, it can be painful, leaving your relatives and friends.and memories

behind, but think of why you are leaving.if its because you want to obtain a safer, and better life for your self and your children then you should have no

regrets,only memories remain behind.

good luck to you and your family.

We moved here 3 years ago with our 2 kids, 10 and 13 then. We have had our ups and downs but don't regret leaving UK. Most important thing is to make sure kids are happy, we would move if they weren't (not necessarily back to UK though!). Don't worry too much about the friends and relatives you will probably find that they will be more than happy to visit you...

Thanks everyone for your kind messages.

I have 2 kids ages 14 and 12 and I know it will be a better way of life for them. We are expecting ups and downs like everyone who makes a big move like this, but I know its for the best.

Family already making plans to visit, will probably see some of them more out there than we do here lol

Its pouring down here at the moment and yesterday it rained all day, the whole week-end a total wash out. Kids moaning, keep reminding them only a few weeks and we will be in the sunshine.

Good luck debdebs,

We are hoping to be doing the same in a few months!!

We are even bringing the cat, and that is turning out to be the most stressful thing so far...

Good luck Debra. Hope the trip out goes well and the furnishings arrive in good time. We hopefully will meet you when we are out there. We arrive in Block A on 28 July 2008 for the first time with out kids. When you're around and about give us a shout and we can exchange numbers etc.

I cannot deny I am envious.
