Reading the first post reminds of when everyone was voting the Tories out. It does not matter who gets in, they will never change back the things that got the last lot voted out and in time will only mess things up just as much and then in a few years everyone will trying to vote them out. Remember the Council Tax the Tories bought in? Labour jumped up and down about it. Did they abolish it? No they kept putting it up!!! One reason why I am glad to out of the mess in the UK. Once a mess always a mess!!

All the three main parties are too samey these days so not alot will change no matter who is in power. And if its a hung parliament, which i suspect it will be,god help the pound. It looks like being a bumpy ride. One thing i will say though, with hindsight.Enoch Powell did talk alot of sense, Paul.

Well it certainly is a mess in England with hundreds, if not thousands, of voters being refused a chance to vote due to inconsistency in the system, and sheer incompetence of organisers. Police called out as demonstrations continue. Predictions for a hung parliament are from Exit and BBC.

People DO NOT go into Politics for the good of the People, it's all about the Money !!! My MP is Anne Begg forAberdeen South, she's held her seat, but I would love to see her total income received since she became MP including ALL the "Backhanders" "favours" Fancy Jaunts etc etc etc. Dodgy.....each and everyone of them !! |

Looks like it's definitely a hung parliament. The next few days will be interesting with Brown trying to get Clegg to join him. Clegg said last week that he wouldn't but you can never tell with this lot. If Brown can't get Clegg to join him he may have to resign and then Cameron would be Prime Minister (I think)

They are saying on BBC this am that Clegg is more likely to join Brown as Labour are open to P.R and Torys are still not. We'll have to wait and see, but all this uncertainty not good for the pound.

Cameron won the election ,much to my disgust,so he should form a new government without the help of other parties. If he were to do this then I would say that he would have to seriously re think some of his proposals, otherwise he will fall at the first fence, but being a conservative he wants to make sure he is on a certainty hence the talks with Clegg. Brown lost the election then he should have the grace to stand down simples..I know this sounds odd to you who know me as a Labour man,but if you lose the fight thats it,let the winner take the helm and hope he keeps us off the rocks. He (Cameron) may wish in a few months time that he had not won.Nothing worse than taking on some one elses dirty washing,he would have been better letting our Gord carry on,then try his luck later on for an election but there was always the chance that Gordon might pull a white rabbit out of the hat and that would scupper his ambitions totally. Now he has the perfect answer when it fails,I am not a magician

Unfortunately Gordon cannot stand down until we have a working government, and while these two parties, Con. & Lib.Dem, take days to come to some sort of agreement, Gordon has to stay on, otherwise we don't have anyone officially, to take any kind of decision in an emergency. Meanwhile, the pound and the shares continue to fall, drastically.

2-7 odds being given for there being another election this year. If the Lib-Dems manage to form a coalition with the Tories there will be many people who will not vote for them again and if the opportunity is within the next 6 months, I reckon there will be a major shift in voting patterns. I also reckon there is a chance that there will be three new party leaders at the next elections. So where does that leave the £/TL this year, that's the really important issue?

And Monday pm they still haven't sorted it out! Does not bode well, and meanwhile the pound suffers. Where's all the pre-election promises of putting the country first? They seem to be putting their own party dogmas first. I agree with malsancak - many will never vote Lib-Dem again!

Sorry, Richard (msge.52) but Brown hasn't resigned - yet. He's set out a firm proposal in yet another bid to woo the Lib-Dems which included the comment that he would resign and allow a leadership election to take place within the Labour party and that he would neither oppose nor back any candidate. Things aren't looking hopeful for a Cons/Lib-Dem alliance but everything's still v.much up in the air. What goes on behind closed doors and all that......
