Our British neighbour who lives alone has recently had cancer surgery and is now receiving weekly chemotherapy which will last for at least another 8 weeks. The problem is that she has been without her landline and ADSL for 7 weeks and dispite several trips to KKTC Telecoms in Girne where she has explained the urgency they have not fixed or responded. They can clearly see her condition.

It is essential she has contact with her Family in UK and mobile bills are horrendous.

Does anybody have any influence at KKTC Telecoms. If you can help please post a reply.

Does she have a computer - does she know how to do email?

If she has, then she could phone Irfan to install VOIP12 for her and have free calls to any landline. OK the subscription charge is €10 for every 3 months. Irfan has gone to Turkey for a week, but should be back after the weekend. Sorry, I don't have his contact details handy right now, but if interested post again here and I'll check them out and post them.

Thanks Tenakoutou - Yes she does but no ADSL without landline so no internet. She uses SKYPE when landline works.

I had problems just recently with my landline for nearly 2 months then I remembered that if you dial 163, as well as getting your telephone bill, you can also report repairs, which I did, and within a couple of hours it ws working and has been ok ever since.
