Does anyone know if I can buy any gluten free bread anywhere in North Cyprus? Staying in Catalkoy but will have a car. Thanks.

Don't know about the bread itself, but you used to be able to buy the gluten free flour from TEMPO I believe (next door to football stadium on the main road in Çatalköy)

Thanks but my baking skills aren't up to much and I don't have a breadmaker there. Appreciate the post though. Any fellow Coeliacs got any suggestions?

Last summer was the last time I saw gluten free flour in Tempo, I have to make bread and use a combination of flour which I bring with me from the UK and gram flour. If we go south I buy brown rice flour and buckwheat flour. I believe one of the supermarkets in Alsancak does corn bread but I have not taken the risk in case it does contain gluten. When we just came out on holiday we just used to take a cool bag full of bread and supplement it with rice crackers. Gluten free pasta appears intermittently and Ileli has recenetly had gluten free muesli. If I can help anymore please ask as I know how difficukt it can be

Learn to bake. It's not difficult and it's so expensive to buy gluten free bread even in the UK.

Get some good recipes using alternatives to wheat flour, you'll never look back. or give up bread....

LKF 1 in 16 people in Ireland have Coeliacs, lots don't know they are... Probably historic from genes unused to wheat, generations brought up on all those lovely tatties in the staple diet.
