Firstly, thanks for the e-mails I have received so far.

Re Ang 1706 - Nope - not Avril of Maisy Browns - lol

Re TRNC Vaughan - So, where am I?

I am based in Karsiyaka. Travelling from Girne, turn left at Karsiyaka sign (opposite Square). Follow signs for The Green Palace. My house is the one on the corner opposite the restaurant.

Cheers

Hi CarrieRBag,

I'm sorry you didn't receive an automated response. I have checked that it is working and it appears to be. Could you maybe check your spam folder incase the reply was dropped in there? If not, e-mail avs kitchen@yahoo.com again with the heading CarrieRBag and I will ensure you receive a menu. Or, alternatively, you can provide your e-mail address and I will e-mail a menu to you

Kind Regards

Hi, sounds lovely but have you had your kitchen checked by the health and safety people and had hygiene checks by the beledaisi?

Best to be safe than sorry!

What do you mean there is always one? All food establishments have to be checked for the public's safety. It is a perfectly legitimate question.

As Avril has advertised on here then she is asking to be checked, so I am sure she has all the necessary certificates.

And Zerochlor if you go to the nightclubs to pick up a girl you dont have to worry they are all up to date with their medicals.

deeom is actually so right in asking the question. I got e-coli from chicken that had been stored wrongly

in a restaurant fridge so I know from experience (not a good one either) that there are procedures that must be followed from the public health point of view. Good luck to Avril as long as she is doing things properly.

Also all of those selling food in this heat at Lambousa Market!!!!

Hi Guys,

Just to assure you, my hygiene levels are very high.

I did provide food at the Lambousa Market last year, but, because of the increasing temperatures in May, I stopped, purely for fear of food poisoning as I considered it not worth the risk.

No matter how many ice packs you put in your cool box, you can never be too sure - also people may be buying perfectly safe food, however, the time they spend walking around the warm market area may be enough to trigger the harmful bacteria. So the food poisoning could take place in the carrier bag - never mind the cool box, or the fridge at home.

I buy the ingredients from the supermarkets, make/bake the products, wait til they are cool, I pack them and freeze them immediately. This is all done in the same day. So, nothing is stored in the fridge or set aside.

I hope this alleviates any concerns anyone has.

At the end of the day, it is the individuals choice to buy, or not to buy.

Kind Regards

Avri

avril well done for your answer, im sure all who sell at the market are aware of the danger, but cant be responsible for the hours food is in the bags. we did the market for a while with parma ham, salami etc and advised people to colect at the end so we could keep it cool in our mini fridge, i for one would love to sample your wares xxxxx
