ICC World Twenty20, Barbados: England 168-7 (20 ovs) beat South Africa bowled out for 129 (19 ovs) by 39 runs

Stayed up to watch England V South Africa in the Twenty20 Barbados... glad I did. What a match and what a match winning performance from England. How nice to see attacking play full of self-belief. It does make a change.

England played like they owned the ground (probably did once) and bullied SA out of the match. It makes a change, it's usually Southern Hemisphere teams who play this way. SA who beat NZ in the same manner looked totally bewildered.

If (big if) can play this way for the remainder of their games no reason they can't go on to win the tournament.

Hats off to the fielding too... catches win matches and they made some spectacular ones.

Keep it up boys!

Yeah---but how many of the England players were actually born and bred there? At least three could have been playing against England in this game!

Ian,

It's the same old story... how many NZ players are Maori? You can go on forever about people's origins at the end of the day they choose to play for England and have some English ancestry. Not many of the SA players can claim an African ancestry that stretches back many generations. Often where you are born is an accident of location not because of any real claim to the land...

Anyway, if you chucked out all the non-WASP's we'd be down to the back-room staff!
