Does anyone know the progress on the tracks being turned into tarmac roads around Ozankoy ? I am talking about the tracks that start from Olive Tree Mews on the Catalkoy / Ozankoy road and join up to the road up to Bellapais (Ali Pasak). Would be very grateful of any update.

The road outside Olive Tree Mews has been tarmaced. Do not know how far up the hill they have gone but there is new tar and painted road signs

Not sure how far up it goes but I visited a friend who lives about half a mile up and the road is tarmaced past there.

I live on Nasreddin Hoca ( the Old Crusader Road to the Abby ) and it has been tarmaced all the way to the top with white lines down the middle and stop signs ( in English at the bottom.

The ' dip ' has been done with pipes to take run off water and covered with tarmac but not sure about the road to Ozankoy. Road humps are being placed within a week or so.

If you are looking for a top class road in Ozankoy just come up the one that goes past Star Bowling - its a main road into the village - just make sure you have your suspension on High or a good soft cushion under your bum or put up with the pot holes and rain water destroyed road!

Good to see that all the "Tracks" have now got white lines painted on them but a pity that a lot of them end up on a road that is only fit for 4X4's.

Oh well, maybe next year when they have tried to sort out the Cengiz Topal River............... Pipes to take the run off sound like a good idea, might stop the 3ft deep floods every time it rains!

Still love it here.

Quarmby

It has my son is there at the moment

Road goes right from the Ozankoy Catalkoy road up to the dip by the ravine so a good 3/4 to 1m done

On the basis it goes on past our place I'm aright comes to mind the dust should be settled down by now when the mixers go past

The road that leads to Çatalköy village (past the FEZ) is also collapsing in places. Cars avoiding the holes are steering over to the "wrong side of the road" !! I have been almost hit head on twice up that road.....
