To all British and Turkish.

My name is John and i'm an English Mechanic,Auto Elecrician and Vehicle Inspector and have been for 20 yrs.

I live in Lapta and since ive been here i have heard alot of storys of how so many people here, have not had the quality of service they should be getting, with the prices they have paid on there vehicles. I didnt intend on working full time when i moved here, but after hearing so many frightening stories, ive now changed my mind.

I intend on starting my own business. Not decided yet on if i should go mobile, or open a workshop. Alot of people have told me to open a workshop. Undecided. I have all my tools inc some diagnostic equipment. For the moment until i decide when and where i setup, if anybody needs any advice or work doing, then please dont hesitate to contact me.

Thanks to all. John

You'd be better off going mobile otherwise you'll become embroiled in all the expensive bureaucratic nonsense to set up a legitimate business. Turbo charge your van so you can make a quick getaway!

Good luck John, wait for it mind you - have you got a work permit, do you pay tax, health and safety plus food handling in case you eat a mars bar etc, etc, etc..............

Just go for it and go mobile - lots of people need a mech at their busted car and tow charges can be a bit expensive out here, not to mention bloody frightening if you happen to be in the one being towed down the mountain roads!!!!!

P.S. What do you know about old Pajero's?

Many thanks to peoples posts. Its nice to no that i'm obviously needed and that i wont look like a prune from sitting in the sun all the time.

With response to Waddo theres nothing i dont know about Pajero's. I have owned about 6 in the last 10 yrs.

So if i can be of any assistance give me a call.

Rigsby, must be honest dont know Ziggy. But i have been to a couple of large garages and they all say i'm to qualified for what they want. And they all say they cant afford to pay me. I personaly think that they feel abliged to only employ turkish. But thats no different to anywhere you go.

Just thought i might add, that emails are easier to reply to later in the evening. As having 2 young children running round the house cant get near the laptop till later.Have replied to some emails though.Maybee easier to just give me a quick call. Phone no again just in case.05338439065.

And many thanks to all the enquiries. John.

Yes John thats the place.Ziggy is a points and plugs type mechanic who has to pass on the more modern stuff. He knows people in the south for parts etc.Dont be put off by the spares counter just inside the garage, you never know when someone will need a gearbox for a Vauxhall Victor!!
