if you are english and are a citizen of the trnc then yes you can have them transferred into your name straight away. but if you are not a citizen then you have to apply for permissions to buy .....then you can transfer the deeds to your name

How long does it take to get 'citizenship' - I heard 15+ years? So, for a 'non-citizen', after application for permission to buy, how long before it's granted and title deed is transferred to applicant's name? Are water pipes + meters, and electricity lines + electric box already installed on these properties you are advertising? Are these properties unencumbered by by builders'/landowners' mortgages, and is there any 'cast-iron' guarantee, in writing, that this cannot happen? With all the recent adverse publicity, potential buyers must have certain assurances (in writing).

No it can take up to 1 - 1 1/2 years and then the transfer can begin yes electricity and water is all connected the contract that we write is very assuring

Korman is one of the biggest construction companies in NC, they're build quality is first class. Part owned by one of the wealthiest families in the North (Cyprus Pools, Korineum Golf, Medikent etc) and I've never heard of any problems with mortgages.

Tina100, Unfortunately the experience of many buyers is doing nothing to encourage people to purchase homes in the TRNC. The procedure for house purchase does not safeguard the buyer. Paying upfront for a house to discover that you cannot get PTP or the builder will not transfer the tittle deeds and even worse the recent scam of builders taking out mortgages and memorandums has encouraged buyers to rent or look elsewhere. This has had a detrimental affect on not just construction but also the Tourist trade. Just think about how many visited the island to look at property, visit during the building stages and stayed in hotels? If Kormans are indeed a first class developer, then I feel sorry for them as this now well publicised view will affect their business. Perhaps the time has come for developers to join force with the Brits and campaign for change? They have as much to lose as we do. PTP: 1 year! I wish Good luck Korman.

If Kormans are 'one of the wealthiest families in TRNC', then who better to 'stick it' to the government - Tina, you know it makes sense! 'Del Boy' would say the same!

If they are one of the wealthiest families in the TRNC, it presupposes their property building & selling would have made them very well aware of the serious issues affecting the property market. What have they done about them? Not a lot while the money rolls in? The politicians simply plead ignorance of the problems.
