Just a reminder that the Show is this weekend, Sat 15 and Sun 16 May. The show will be opened on Saturday by the new President, Dervis Eroglu.

There will be stands, entertainment and the food court all weekend.

Competition entries for non perishable items are now being received. Perishables will be accepted from 7.30am on Sunday until 10.30am prior to judging at 11.00am.

Everyone can enter the competitions, or just come along and enjoy the days.

Park and ride from Lemar car parks at Catalkoy and Karakoum.

See you there

The buses have been arranged from about 10.00am. I say about because we all know about Cyprus time. They will then effectively just go around in circles all day picking upm and dropping off till the show ground is clear. They will run as last year from Lemar at Catalkoy and Karakoum.

See you there.

Good luck for your show. We will miss it this year, but the transport was really well organised last year.

Hope you have every success with the show.

How do we get this event in the events calendar as I see it's not in there?

Come along and enjoy the fun, it is free, but if you want to spend there will be plenty to tempt you. The food is good, beer and teas all day. A chance to come and visit our beautiful village, everywhere will be open.

For some of us [ignorant!] 'Westenders', please could you explain, in detail, the precise location of the flower show.

Is it possible to drive there, and what is the parking situation - easy,or difficult ?

Thanks in anticipation of your kind and helpful advice!

Where abouts is the "Showground" and is there any local/Turkish entertainment or displays?

Hi Tenakoutou, it's my first time tomorrow so I'll be following the crowds somewhat in the village.

But to get to Ozankoy from your 'neck of the woods', at the main roundabout in the centre of Girne drive straight across past Electrokur on your left. Follow the road straight on then at a mini roundabout bear left.

Easiest way then (only for me giving directions tho!) is straight through the traffic lights and then right at the roundabout at the bottom (with a monument of a couple in the middle of it). You'll drive past Lemar on your right in Karakum. Eventually you'll see a sight on your right to Ozankoy (I think this is opposite Dubai Bazaar (also known as China Bazaar!!). Follow that road up and in to the village centre. There's street parking all around Ozankoy and also a few car parks belonging to restaurants, public parking areas etc. I expect it'll be pretty busy so it might be best parking up outside the village and walking in.

Hope to see you there!

Gidday & thanx, Debbie!

Such excellent directions, too!

Since I've been banned (by my better half!) from wearing my 'Diggers' hat, with corks swinging from it, I regret that even if you see me, you won't recognise this prolific, [if outspoken!], regular Kiwi 'poster'!

Parking near the show is very limited but buses are run from both Lemar car parks.. that's the Lemar Karakum and Catalkoy.

Friend used it yesterday and it was fine. Buses start at approx 10 am I'm led to believe.

We went yesterday and spent an enjoyable 2 hours or so. What we were not aware of was the 'Flower Show' is Sunday and it was 'Arts &Crafts' only yesterday. Bit disappointing as we obviously went on Sunday last year. We wondered why it was so easy to park in the village as we did the park & ride last year.

However, we enjoyed what we saw and anyone with time should get along there today. Some interesting stalls, good selection of food - Cypriot as well as BBQ and a bar. The park & ride makes it very easy as it is so well organised. Have fun!
