Abbey Bell Tower - Bellapais - You get the sun sinking over the ocean, the light catching the spectacular abbey turning the stone orange and the silhouette of the mountains all in one !

It has to be" The Kervan" at Kervansaray! Enjoy.

Definitely Kervansaray. we've spent a good few evenings there having romantic dinners watching the sun disappear and the sky change colour. Gorgeous and a nice Calzone as well.

I was staying at the Riverside in Alsancak last September. This was the view from the bar terrace, so I ran across the road to my room to get the camera and took this shot from there.

Ertan and Aysa place in Kervansary is the best place to sit and watch the sunset with a meze, raki and watermelon. (not neccesarily in that order)

My one and only(so far)sunset moment was when we were having dinner at the Esentepe hotel.Just watching the sun dissolve into the sea was quite a moment,

Regards,

Paul.

Excellent sunsets from my pool terrace in Karsiyaka.

Photo on link below from June this year:

paul90 - What a sunset!! Has the picture been enhanced in any way? I mean no offence, but if this is what you get from your terrace you are a desperately lucky man!!

Hi Jakki

No enhancement at all, straight out of the camera.

In mid june we had a few evenings when the sun was a clear ball in a cloudless sky - just dropping into the sea.

Other nights there was cloud/haze which was not so good because the colours were lost as the sun sank into the mist.

regards, paul

Jakki - I have added a second photo on another night just before the sun sinks into the cloud.

Here are pictures taken from Esentepe Villa Hotel. The food is excellent here and they have entertainment every friday and evry wednesday from the 23rd July.

Seriously, if any people in the Karsiyaka/Lapta area or close by are interested then perhaps we could arrange a BBQ/drinks for the evening of Sunday 14 September.

It would be good for Janet and me to meet people who might be living in the same area - our house has only just been completed and we are not moving out permanently until 2010.

Paul
