This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.

What is this Labour going to do next to offend all its own citizens so that it can please the ethnic minorities.

I can say this because I lived in uk as an ethnic minority for 40 years and this offends me!!

I think it is just a rumour.

My son is just completing the first year of GCSE history and his coursework includes the rise of the Nazis, politics surrounding WW2 and the Holocaust - so it is certainly still on the national curriculum. Indeed last year the school took them on a trip to Berlin and Warsaw - and the trip included a visit to the Auchwitz site - which all of the class will never forget.

Chuck,

Are you sure about that? Schools are very much involved in WW2 history including the Holocaust.

Great joke, Lemtich. Irony is lost on some people. It was the same after the excellent Brass Eye "Paedoph Isles" episode.

Windmill, whatever the joke is, it does not make it right or wrong. Some find it funny, others do not. I attributed it to the late Bernard Manning who first told it to an audience who found it amusing.

His other great classic was told to a packed house just after the Falklands War.

"I'd like you to put your hands together and give a big welcome to a couple of lads here tonight who have just got back from Goose Green!"

After the applause died down, he announced,

"They're Argentinian!"

When I posted the original joke I knew that it would attract a comment like yours from someone. But it is to be expected.

Humour is humour, it transends boundaries. Sniffy political correctness is all very well but where do you stop?

Come on, tell the BB a joke.

Windmill

Pte Pike and I have known each other on other BB's beside this one for a few years now. I don't always agree with what he has to say but I read his postings with interest.

Lighten up, Steve. Life's too short..

I think this site is developing racialist threads.

It is wrong, and should be stopped.

Hi Wyn

I've just been reading the "THE LUNATICS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE ASYLUM" thread.

Is that where you meant to put your last posting (Message 16)?

It would seem more appropriate there and I would agree with it whole heartedly.

OOHHHH, don't go Lem!!!!!! LOL

It is always the same, there is a minority that take offence at jokes. 99% of people take jokes at their intended meaning.

The other thing I have found over the years on the BB's it is almost always someone new, (or may be not!!!!!) who is new and knows little of the dynamics.

I say maybe not, a certain Pte. Pike appeared a while ago and was attacked as a newcomer who knew nothing. Oh Dear!!!!

If you get the chance see The Axis of Evil Tour live or on TV, superb. For more, google it!!!!
