Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to buy plastic sunloungers around the Lapta area? An idea of price would also be helpful as I understand they can be very expensive?

billbob Buying plastic is a waste of time and money. Spend a little bit more and go for wrought iron, low maintenance and will last for a lifetime. AJ

billbob, I have had white plastic sunloungers for five years now, just cleaned them again for this summer. I think they will last another couple of years before replacing, easy to move and easy to wash down. There is a shop behind the big bathroom shop on the corner near the water roundabout. There are the fruit and veg stalls on one side of the road and the big bathroom shop on the other. I bought some white plastic chairs there recently and he was half the price of shops on the main road. You could try China/Dubia Bazaar as another option. The butlers wife

sienna If you get the right cushions and make sure that your sunbeds have wheels then no problem. I wish I had purchased wrought iron from day one as I have spent more on plastic garden furniture than I ever will on wrought iron. Oh yeh I forgot the cost of getting the Belediyesi to take away the broken plastic furniture actually made it as expensive as wrought iron. Plastic is not eco friendly and cannot be repaired but wrought iron can always be repaired if in the unlikely event that the furniture becomes damaged. AJ

they can also rust at the hinges and fall on peoples feet and cause harm as ours didas they are very heavy things - I know they should have been maintained better, but try telling our management company that one at the time !!! still too bulky for me but each to their own

Crazy as it sounds if you buy plastic make sure they are from Turkey (yes Turkey). The ones from china etc dont last long maybe 2 years and dont carry alot of weight before they snap, but the ones from Turkey last at least 5 years and are alot stronger. Trust me Im a good test.

I bought my sunloungers five years ago from Botanica. They are wrought iron - black with white cushions. Yes they are heavy but have wheels and can be pushed (like a very heavy cart) around the pool area. Yes they do get hot in July and August but just cover the exposed bits of iron with towels - they are also higher off the ground than the plastic ones (great for us oldies) - and unlike plastic will see me out!! I would honestly not recommend plastic both for environmental reasons and also the climate here is unsuitable for plastic - it discolours and then disintigrates. You can look in the ravines to see so much dumped plastic! Until they get powdercoating here you have to rub them down and recoat every few years or so but buy once - bit of maintenance - no problems. Also even if the winter winds reach hurricane force wrought iron furniture will not move! Joan

Hi billbob, Sorry I didn't buy the sun loungers there but at Alladins cave and I have had them for five years. The white plastic chairs were 15ytl each but they are good quality ones. They have cheaper ones from 10ytl but they are not very strong. The same chairs that I bought are 25ytl in other places. There is a shop on the main road if travelling from the New Harbour roundabout to the Bellapais traffic lights, it is on the left hand side of the road, I noticed that their prices are not to bad. Drive as if you are going to customs(hope you know where that is),dont turn in there carry on,past the customs on your right,at the top the road will bnear to left, carry on down, turn left at the end and it should be on your left. Hope I remembered it right. Dont know where you live but if you cant find it let me know ,I'll fetch them for you next time I'm there.

agree with zoony - wooden ones with wheels are available from benefit on the main karakum road. do not be put off with what you see outside as they are not a good advertisement for his furniture. he has brand new stock inside. had ours two seasons now and a coat of teak oil in the spring brings them back looking new. cream thick cushions included in the price. sorry cannot remember what we paid. as they are teak they will last for many years. very helpful guy who owns it.
