"Greece's debt crisis has given extra impetus to efforts to improve ties with its traditional rival. Both Ankara and Athens have said they want to demilitarise the Aegean as a way of cutting defence spending.



"We would like to have peaceful relations, based on international law and the mutual respect of rights and territorial integrity," Papandreou told CNN Turk.





What he really meant was "Our country is bankrupt and we can't afford to shore up our defences, so please can we both cut back on defence spending"

perhaps the turks ought to suggest that theu are going to crank up spending on military aid!......greece would go into free-fall lol



suppose the issue of Cyprus will be on the agenda...but not officially!
