If you are using Firefox try going to: Tools, Options, Content, Colours and then chose whatever you want. That solved this problem for me when the text suddenly went pale. Rose

The problem is very simple - you've had your computer 'Cypriotised'!

If you have "Faded" text on all things including documents you can open then your problem is more than likely your graphics card settings. It is common for computers coming back "Out of Repair" for the repair station to forget to set up the graphics card and the sound card.

Lost, Correct! If it is only one programme that is causing trouble then it is most unlikely that it is a graphics card setup problem - back to the drawing board. Better than that - back to the menders and tell them to fix it!!!

You will only find 'internet Options' when you are in Internet Explorer, not Word. To be honest, i think that you are way out of your depth, and have no chance of sorting this out yourself. Why not take the advice given earlier - return it to the company who 'fixed' it, show them the problem, and ask them to put it right?

Because im not sure which company was to blame, first it was repaired by one company whose staff were amateurs and lost the whole of my documents of 5 years even after I stated YES back up back up and all strange pop ups came saying your computer may not work properly and it would never start until I pressed F1, I was later informed they are not a good repairer so I would not even chance taking it back there. My computer is now Turkish! The second company were good and restored all my personal documents but thats the only job they did so Im not sure if its the first company that are to blame.

Lost, when you open up your Internet Explorer webpage, can you select Tools, then Internet Options, then Colours, then Untick 'use windows colours'? Then you just need to select the colours you want to use for your Internet Explorer (web).

It may simply be that the font colour has been changed by accident from the default (black) to grey or some other light colour. You can check this in word by finding the font colour icon (usually a capital A) check the drop down menu and choose the colour you want. Just a suggestion.
