We are not in Cyprus at the moment. However, we have been informed that our Oleander flowers are infested with Aphids. As far as we are aware, none of our other plants are infested. We have pictures and it looks very bad, the person that is doing some gardening work for us has suggested spraying them with a pesticide. We don't want to do this for obvious reasons and we are looking for advice as to how we get rid. We do have a watering system and were wondering if this could be part of the problem. The plants have been since October 2009 so should be quite hardy, is it just our garden our is it happening elsewhere?

We have the same problem with our Hibiscus, went to the garden centre and they said to check our Oleanders and bouganvillia too. They sold us pesticide to use and said these plants and citrus trees should all be sprayed at this time of year.

Me had a few......million of them as well.

Use a mild soapy water/washing up liquid solution in a spray can.

This deters them whilst not killing the beneficial insects.

Same here. I've used Arrivo and also Diddifos on mine, either of which seem to do the trick. Available from most garden centres.
