I have a backup disc that I made on my previous computer using Nero. My new laptop does not have Nero and I am struggling to find a way of opening the .NCO files. I don't particularly want to buy Nero. Any ideas?

Hilltop, I believe that you need to rename the file as .zip instead of .nco and then you should be able to open it with any unzip software you have.

Doesn't seem to have a rename option. I will carry on searching for a converter (that doesn't want to sell me loads of stuff I don't want). Thanks for the suggestion.

Go to the file, right click on the file and use the 'rename' option...

Even if it had an option to rename, it would only change the name, not the file extension. You would need to go to the file name and it should read XXXX.nco Click on it to highlight it, wait a second and then click on it again and you should be able to delete the nco and replace with zip and then hit enter, it will ask for confirmation that you want to change it and then after you confirm, double click on it and it should open in winzip or whatever zip system you have. Alternativelt. Click with right button on the file and select [open with] and find your unzip system and select it. This should open in zip. the .nco is just a file extension nalmen by nero but should work exactly the same with any other unzip system
