its not great at the moment.

best rate i got this week was probably around 2.6ytl to £1

normal advice is change here especially out of season but avoid changing cash in a hotel or disco.

you do know that you can spend £, $, euro cyp£ almost everywhere, your change comes back in YTL. always ask exchange rate though before purchasing.

most shops ect will give you a rate of 2.60. On purchases.

Turkish bank will also give this rate ( hole in the wall) though there is a small charge.

If the best you can get is 2.55 wait until you get there.

check out http://www.xe.com for live mid rate exchange rates. However, like Billy says, wait till you get there, you can use your bank card in most ATM's for convenience. OK it will cost a fee, but you are on holiday so what the heck.....20 quid in bank charges and a fluctation in exchange of a few points will not spoil your holiday. Just get out there, slap on the sun tan lotion, pick up your book, sit back with a Large G&T and Reeeeeellllaxxxxxx !!!!!
