Hi Everyone,

Just been advised by my solicitor that because our Villa was purchased at over 200,000 euros we will have to pay an estate agent fee /commission to the land registry office in order to transfer our Title Deeds.

This requirement forms part of the new Estate Agents law and we will have to pay this commission even though we purchased our Villa prior to the law being introduced.

Would really appreciate any information or advice.

" Name and shame"

msg 4;

Try not to jump to conclusion,before you know it could be "not true".

As for naming and shaming:You are talking about TRNC governments deceisions here,not any Tom,Dick or Harry's wrong doings.

S**t happens,when I bought my last shop in UK (the only bussiness doing that around),local council also forgot to tell me that 3 years later there were going to be another 8 shops doing the same thing.

Yorgozlu;

I speak from painfull experience. This is entirely foreign to people from countries with a robust and established Legal System.

The TRNC are moving forward but they are leaving a trail of hurt and anguish in their path.

People who are trying to support this fledgling state, deserve better.

Its still not too late, to recognise your failings, and put matters right.

We live in hope.

There is a copy of the new estate agents law on the HBPG site - http://www.hbpg-trnc.net/forms.html halfway down the page on the left.

Cooper,

The HPBG can only advise on a given situation. Marion does her best to advise within and around the laws.

Until these laws are more robust and biased in favour of the buyer, it is NOT safe to buy in the TRNC.

Would you gamble your life savings in a casino?....because that is exactly the risk of buying an immovable property

in the TRNC, at the present time.
